You edit bitmaps with areas in transparency colour. You can see through the areas in transparency colour and the other areas cover up the adverts. To use CoverU place it in front of the app with the adverts.0.bmp is the default startup bitmap. Keys 0 to 9 let you select ten different bitmaps you have made named 0.bmp to 9.bmp.The program can use a timer to periodically activate all desktop windows to stop Windows 10 UWP apps from auto closing due to no activity.Download the program and unzip it to a folder using 7zip or Windows Extract All. Double click the exe to run it. Add a shortcut to your Start Menu or Task bar if you are going to use it often. See the CoverU.pdf file for full instructions on how to use it.
CoverUv2 has a popup toolbar added to it. I was watching some programs on STV which has a annoying advert that repeats excessively and thought a toolbar that lets you quickly mute the sound and swap background images would be good. So I've added that in version 2 and it works well. Used with a background image that covers almost all the advert I have left enough visible so I can see when the advert has finished.
CoverUv2 is compiled in Visual Studio 2022. You may need to install the latest supported x86 version of the C++ Redistributable version.

The Coveru app is not signed because that would cost about £100 a year. Because of that Microsoft Defender Smartscreen will say the app is not recognized. Click More info and then Run anyway. After that the app will open OK.
If you are going to use bitmaps that are larger than your screen you might find my CSZoom app useful. With it you can place app windows outside of the screen. The link to it is https://steve54798.wixsite.com/filecab/general-8
You can also use the arrow keys to move the Coveru window outside of your screen. You might want to do that if you want to have the Coveru screen borders out of view.
